Italy is renowned worldwide for its romantic culture, exquisite cuisine, designer fashions and wonderful natural and historical environments. Italy is usually given the nickname of "bel paese" in Italian, or "beautiful country" in English.

There are a number of regular international flights to Italy, and most of these flights arrive at either one of two Italian cities. Firstly, Milan receives international flights at the two airports of Malpensa and Linate. Secondly, flights to Rome will have you arrive at any of two airports, including Fiumicino and Ciampino. Overall, Italy flights can range from those served by European low cost airlines to flights provided by the more expensive European major airlines.

Once you arrive in Italy from either airports from Rome or Milan, you can then travel to the magnificent town of Florence in the region of Tuscany. Florence is popular for being the city which initiated the Italian Renaissance. Therefore, there are several cultural, artistic and architectural monuments that represent the richness of the city.

Once you have flown to Milan or Rome on your international flight, you may then rent a car in order to travel to Florence. It can be easy to drive a rental car to there as the city is connected by highways to the rest of the country, especially Milan and Rome. For example, Florence travelers could use the "Firenze – Certosa" exit from the A-1 Autostrada. This route conveniently connects Florence to Milan and the North as well as to Rome and the South.
